We were delighted to be involved with the online PR efforts for legendary ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy’s new supergroup ‘Adrenaline Mob’ this year, in order to help boost promotion for the UK and European tour dates and new album ‘Omertà’. Our role involved targeting and addressing all key music and entertainment sites and portals, including rock, metal and progressive music bloggers and tastemakers.

The main objectives of the campaign involved:

• Encouraging online music and entertainment bloggers, tastemakers and site editors to push news of the tour and the tour dates, share and feature Mike Portnoy’s video message to EU and UK fans as an extra tool/incentive for fans.

• Organising and scheduling email, phone and face-to face/video interviews with the band whilst on tour in order to increase tour promotion and encourage fan interaction and affinity.

• Arranging album reviews to further increase online visibility.

We were excited this year to undertake the UK online PR for LA pop-rockers It Boys! (Century Media/EMI). Our job was to work alongside the label and radio/tv pluggers to introduce the band to the UK market, building their UK online press presence over an ongoing campaign which has so far spanned two singles and an album launch.

As well as building a besppoke facebook app to complement the online PR and engage users and fans throughout the second single release and album lauch, our task was to confirm editorial placements, reviews, features and interviews across key target sites and influencers for pop/music/entertainment/lifestyle audiences.

The challenge: building a site with limited assets and at the same time empowering the fans. The new official carlbarat.co.uk site is THE place to see all all the fan’s photos featured across the whole site. This is the first time all of the fan photos have been bought together and it has uncovered some great shots that you will probably have not seen before. Each shot links directly back to the fan’s photo stream. So if you have ‘Carl Barat’ tagged photos in your Flickr gallery, browse through the pages to see them featured on the site which was designed by Russ Cole.
